Question:

Where should the thesis be placed in an argumentative essay?

Julian S.
Answer:

In an argumentative essay the thesis should be the last sentence of the introduction paragraph. It's also important to note that the topic sentences should strongly linked to the thesis; it's often a good idea to use some of the same wording as the thesis in the topic sentences.

Question:

What chord is a Ger+6 chord enharmonically equivalent to and what function does the Ger+6 chord serve in a typical chord progression?

Answer:

While the Ger+6 chord is enharmonically equivalent to a dom4/2 chord, it functions as a subdominant. The Ger+6 was originally developed from using chromatic passing tones to move from a ii7 chord to a dominant chord, most commonly a cadencial 6/4 chord.

Question:

What would be a good way to begin learning the spiccato bow stroke on cello?

Inactive

Answer:

The key to developing a good spiccato bow stroke is to allow the bow to bounce on its own instead of trying to force it to bounce. To begin, one should practice with a detache stroke in the middle of the bow, accenting the first of every eight notes and having no thoughts of bouncing. Next, one should start playing with heavier accents but still use the first finger to keep the bow firmly in the string. The final step is to release the pressure on the notes between the accents; when done properly the bow should bounce on its own accord.
