How has the course of world geography been impacted by the western government's in the Post-World War II era?
World geography in the Post-World War II era looked very different then before World War II. African nations were divided up by their previous colonizers (Great Britain, France, and others) and Germany was split into two. From this moment in history we understand that world geography and the boundaries of countries can be easily changed at the time of great political, economic, and societal change. World geography is an ever-changing landscape.

How does the political landscape in the United States sometimes make for "ineffective" policy making?
The United States is somewhat unique in that we only have two major political parties, the Democrat Party and Republican Party. Outside of the United States, most other countries have three or more major political parties. Some would argue that having only two major political parties makes for "ineffective" policy making. This is because, as we seen today and in the past, this can lead to polarization on both sides causing stalemates and gridlock. And, when this happens there can be really only two options, no policy or a policy compromise that doesn't satisfy either side.

When does public policy become effective?
Public policy only becomes effective when all stakeholders are involved in the making of a given policy. For example, if a legislator were to create a policy on requiring individuals to work 20 hours or more a week in order to receive food assistance, that legislator should include experts in this field (i.e. sociologists), individuals currently receiving food assistance, supporters of the policy, and opponents of the policy. Public policy isn't a one-size-fits-all situation, individual components of each part of the policy need to be taken into consideration for everyone to benefit.
