What was the Cambrian explosion?
It was a period approximately 540 million years ago where almost all present animal phyla appeared. This means that there was a huge increase in the number and diversity of forms of life. Changes in the environment, such as an increase in oxygen levels, ozone formation, an increase in the calcium concentration of the Cambrian seawater, might be related to the birth of these new life forms.

What is continental drift theory?
It is the theory that states that Earth's continents once formed a single landmass, known as Pangaea, but separated and, over time, drifted to their current locations. This theory is now included in the theory of plate tectonics, which explains that these movements happened thanks to the motion of the plates on the Earth's lithosphere layer.
How does the glycolysis metabolic pathway work?
The glycolysis is the process of releasing energy within sugars. It is the first stage of cellular respiration in the presence of oxygen. Glucose is split into two molecules of a three-carbon sugar called pyruvate through the action of 10 enzymes, including kinases, mutases, isomerases and dehydrogenases, among others. This pathway produces two molecules of pyruvate, two net molecules of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), two molecules of the reduced form of NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) which is NADH, and two molecules of water.
