Question:

What are isomers?

Answer:

Isomers are two or more compounds with the same molecular formula but different arrangements of atoms in the molecule and therefore have different chemical properties. For example: C4H10 is one molecular formula. In this molecule, there are four Cs and ten Hs. We can arrange the Cs and Hs in different ways as long as each C has 4 bonds around it and each H has only 1 bond.* After trying different ways of writing, you'll see there are two different ways which satisfy the (*) requirement, namely, H3C-CH2-CH2-CH3 and (H3C)3-CH. These are two isomers of C4H10.

Question:

What is an acid?

Answer:

Anything which can be dissolved in water can form a solution. The solution can be either an acid, a base, or neutral. To identify whether the solution is an acid or not, we need to measure its pH level. One way to do that is by using pH strips. You can simply dip a pH strip into that solution and if the strip turns into pink or red, that means the solution is an acid. The pink (red) color indicates the solution's pH level is below 7.

Answer:

Atoms are tiny tiny particles that make up everything around us. If you took a 1 meter ruler and cut it 10000000000 times, you would get quite close to the size of an atom.
