Why do we learn music?
There is no secret to the beauties of music. It is the single most universal language that all of humankind shares. We appreciate it through the everyday: the background in a mall, at a restaurant, on stage, on our daily commutes, and even as a tiresome learning exercise. Music breathes the life into our hearts - sound that travels through time.
T.S. Eliot wrote, "April is the cruellest month". Describe why this phrase serves so much significance.
This phrase connects with a multitude of individuals on a multitude of levels. We recognize the gloomy and rainy climates that often comes with Aprils. We want to feel a connection with looming of final examinations in university, for who have the fortune to attend. Humans take comfort in associating a time of their lives with something written down.
In studying languages, we analyze the texts written by those who know it natively or learned through different environments. Why is literature one of the greatest examples of human expression, and why must we study it?
The English language serves as an international weave of historic symbolization of colonialism, capitalism, and power. Through studying English, we recognize the language that connects the titans of multiple industries and countries. Sometimes, the truth is not pretty. But literature, literature is the way we can know that humans are all the same with very similar ideas: it is how we express it with our words, that make us truly unique and beautiful.
