What are the reactants and products of cellular respiration? Why do we need cellular respiration in the human body?
One glucose molecule and six oxygen molecules(remember that oxygen comes as O2 for better molecular stability) and get broken down while releasing heat into 6 molecules of carbon dioxide and 6 molecules of water. The need for cellular respiration in the body is due to aerobic exercise that causes the body to break down glucose and send the energy(ATP) to working muscles. Oxygen from breathing is required. The products of cellular respiration are what we breathe out.
Describe what the nephron loop is and what it does in the body.
The nephron loop, or another name is the loop of Henle, is the functional unit of the kidneys and is what produces urine in the body and filters blood. The nephron loop is a portion of the nephron. There is an ascending and descending side of the nephron loop. The ascending portion reabsorbs sodium and chloride ions into the interstitial fluid(the portion that is on the outside of the vessel), while the descending portion reabsorbs solute and water from the filtrate.
Given the equation: 3(4x+5y) + 5(2x-7y) what would be the first rule or step to this equation?
To start simplification of this problem, parenthesis must be placed around -7 due to the - sign being assigned to 7. This allows the distribution of 5 to (2x+(-7)y)) to have the correct values.
