About Shaun

About Shaun
I am a former college English professor from Philadelphia, PA, now living in Los Angeles. I worked as an assistant professor from 2017 to 2020 but decided to resign in order to be closer to my spouse, who is an associate professor at a college where we live. I have published in peer-reviewed journals, attended many academic conferences, and have over fifteen years of teaching experience.

Before that, I taught courses on American and African-American literature, popular culture, and literary theory at California State University, Northridge. I worked as an instructor and teaching assistant at the University of Virginia during graduate school, and I even have some experience as a high school and middle school...
