Question:

I am having a hard time starting my paper. How do I begin?

Answer:

Start by creating a web or graphic organizer to get your ideas onto paper. Once you have your main ideas down, you can connect smaller bubbles of information to the big points and begin to form your thesis and supporting paragraphs.

Question:

How do I retain information from a chapter from my textbook?

Answer:

My suggestion is to divide your reading into parts. If you know you have five days to read the chapter, split it up so you are doing a little bit each day. This allows you more time to take quality notes and prevents you from becoming disengaged with the text from reading too much in a short amount of time.

Question:

How do I differentiate instruction to fit the needs of all of my students?

Answer:

There are a variety of ways you can differentiate instruction. Providing more challenging work for gifted students is very important in order to continue to foster their love of learning. For students who need more support, try small group instruction or work rotation stations that allows them to get the extra practice they need without drawing attention to the fact that they may have varying levels of work in that subject area.
