Question:

Cuando (____) once anos, yo (____) a México con mi familia. A) era; fui B) tenía; fui C) era; voy D) tenía; voy

Taylor W.
Answer:

The answer is B When talking about the past and saying your age, you use the imperfect tense. Additionally, with age, you must use tener (to have). Since the first verb is in the past, you must conjugate the second verb in the past, as well.

Question:

Explain the difference between positive and negative feedback mechanisms in the body. Provide an example of each.

Taylor W.
Answer:

A positive feedback mechanism is when the output enhances the original effect or stimuli. Example: labor during birth (oxytocin increases contractions, which further increases the release of oxytocin) A negative feedback mechanism is when the output negates/decreases the original effect or stimuli. Example: An increase in blood glucose levels stimulates the release of more insulin, which then decreases blood glucose levels due to the conversion of glucose to glycogen.
