What makes for a good, college-level paper?
Great question! Many elements are important in a college paper. I would recommend focusing on three areas: thesis, citation, and original idea. Your paper should be "thesis-driven." This means that you state your argument early, and refer back to it often throughout the paper. Your paper also needs to be cited correctly. Usually this means MLA, APA, or Chicago citations. Each of these has their own sets of rules, but I can help you sort them out! Lastly, your paper should highlight your unique, original thoughts. A reader should think, "this is a really great idea!"

What is the difference between a musical scale, key, or chord?
Great question! Musical scales and chords are based in a musical "key." The key (such as C major) is like a language with unique rules and tendencies. Only certain notes are allowed to be played in each key. Within a key there are 1 or more scales (like an alphabet), and many different possible chords made up of notes from the scales (like words). Using the scales and chords we can create a piece of music (like a poem) within a given key.
How can you tell the difference between ballet and modern dance?
Great question! Ballet and modern were historically very separate disciplines. Recently, they have begun to merge as many modern dancers train in ballet, and vice versa. One easy way to tell the difference is by their footwear. Modern dancers usually dance barefoot, while ballet dancers where ballet shoes or pointe shoes.
