Answer:

To construct a well-written paragraph, use the Hamburger method. The "top bun" is your Topic Sentence. The condiments, like onion and tomato, are your first Supporting Sentence. Your hamburger patty and cheese is your second Supporting Sentence. Your condiments are your third Supporting Sentence, and the "bottom bun" is your Concluding Sentence.

What are the planets of our solar system, in order?

Answer:

The planets of our solar system are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. A way to remember this is to create a rhyme or pattern to remember the order of the planets, closest to the Sun, using the first letter of its name. For example "Mary Vick Eats Mango Jelly Slowly Until Ned Plays".

Question:

There are 5 trays of ice cubes, with 14 cubes in each tray. How many ice cubes are there altogether? Explain your thinking.

Answer:

There are 70 ice cubes in all. I know this, because I know that multiplying means you are making multiple groups of something. For example, in this question, I am calculating 5 groups of 14, or 14 groups of 5. I know that 10 groups of 5 is 50, and and 4 groups of 5 is 20, so 50 + 20 = 70, or 5 x 14 = 70.
