Question:

How do mountains impact politics?

Answer:

People want to live in a place they feel is safe. The easiest way to feel safe is to have defenses. Many countries were formed in the middle of boundaries like rivers or mountains which are natural defenses. The more difficult it is to invade the better! Think of Switzerland and how we consider them to be neutral. They have been able to rule themselves for quite a while because of the mountains that surround them.

Answer:

When the French Revolution occurred, the nobles who fled needed jobs. Nobles, as a rule, did not have many employable skills so they created their own jobs. They convinced Americans that they had the best food and voila! They escaped from the guillotine into the kitchen.
