Experienced tutor and soon-to-be English Teacher
Tutor Satisfaction Guarantee
Hello! I am a current City Year Student Success Coach and experienced writing tutor, having worked with students from middle school to university on essays and writing assignments of all kinds. I am also enrolled in a Masters of Education program at the University of Pennsylvania, where I will be training to be a secondary English teacher.
I am completing a year of service with well over 1000 hours of working with students on their writing and reading skills. In addition to my time as a City Year tutor/mentor, I worked for three years as a writing tutor at Wellesley College. At Wellesley I worked with students from every discipline, in every stage of the writing process. Additionally, I spent a summer designing and teaching a literature course for English Language Learners with Summerbridge Hong Kong.

City Year Chicago, Student Success Coach
2019 - 2020
As a Student Success Coach, I am responsible for tutoring and mentoring 7th and 8th graders in their English classroom. I assist in the whole classroom, but primarily work with students 1-on-1 and in small groups. I design small group lessons and also track student progress in order to assess their needs and plan which English Language skills need the most development.
Wellesley College Writing Department, Writing Tutor
2016 - 2019
As a Writing Tutor I underwent extensive training and worked for three years with students in every department. As tutors we were trained to provide assistance with all types of writing assignments, and in all stages of the writing process. I helped with everything from analyzing a prompt and brainstorming to putting the final touches on an assignment. As we worked with students in every subject imaginable, I have assisted with everything from lab reports to senior thesis papers. Tutoring was one-on-one and sessions lasted from 30-60 minutes.
Summerbridge Hong Kong, English Department Head/Teacher
2018 - 2018
Summerbridge Hong Kong is a non-profit English immersion summer program for Hong Kong students ages 13-15. As Department Head I mentored other Literature/Social Studies teachers and managed department resources, while also designing and teaching my own course on Children's Literature. The course developed students' reading comprehension, vocabulary, and creative writing skills.
