Question:

What are some good ways to learn Spanish?

Answer:

Besides taking a course at school or online, I think the best method would be through immersion. You should definitely listen to Spanish music, watch telenovelas, and meet Spanish Speaking friends. Reading material, no matter the length or topic, helps with grammar. Consuming interesting media is a good step.

Question:

Why is Japanese considered a very difficult language, and how have you grown during this linguistic experience?

Answer:

Most American high schools do not provide East Asian languages in their curriculum, so Japanese is perceived as being too difficult for Americans to learn. With enough exposure and support, any language can be learnable. The hardest aspect of Japanese is the writing system, since it uses hiragana, katakana, and kanji (Chinese characters). Learning Japanese has been a great base for learning other languages that follow a subject-object-verb syntax such as Korean. No doubt, it has helped me learn Korean and Mandarin. My experience has demonstrated that perseverance truly does trump "talent." Language learning is well worth the effort, since I have been able to communicate and develop relationships with others I would otherwise not have. Expand your horizons.

Question:

What is the most important aspect of Writing? What does it take to become a great writer?

Answer:

It goes without saying that practice makes perfect. The more you write, proofread, and edit, the more you will improve your skills as a writer. It takes humility to advance in writing and to not take feedback so personally. Humility and patience are key to become a great writer. Also, expanding your reading list helps with that.
