What types of drugs are more likely to partition into fatty tissue?
What's the difference between ionic and covalent bonds?
Ionic bonds are formed between a metal and a non-metal. Covalent bonds are formed between two non-metals. With ionic bonds, there's electron transfer between the atoms, and there needs to be one electron donor and one electron acceptor. With covalent bonds, the electrons are shared equally between the atoms.
How does the cell wall differ for gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria?
Gram-negative bacteria have a thin peptidoglycan layer and an outer lipid membrane, whereas gram-positive bacteria are lacking this outer lipid membrane and have a thick peptidoglycan layer. Since gram-negative bacteria have an outer membrane, this makes them more resistant.
