Question:

Can you help me structure a paragraph?

Kim F.
Answer:

I would be happy to help you. Here is a brief guide for a five sentence paragraph structure. Introduction sentence- What you think or believe. Support Sentence- Why (supported by cited sources if appropriate.) Support Sentence-Why Support Sentence- Why Concluding Sentence-Summarize what you think and why. The entire paragraph needs to stick to the one subject stated in the introductory sentence. EXAMPLE: The color blue is the best color. It has been noted in children’s drawings around the world as the color of the sky. Also, the color blue is the color of many people’s favorite flowers as read in the poem "BLUE" by poet La La Ladybird. Finally, blue is also the color of many feathered friends such as the Bluebird. The color blue is superior because it has been found in the sky, on flowers, and on birds. This is a simplified example for ease of demonstration. Question:

Can you help me using a and an in a sentence?

Kim F.
Answer:

I am happy to help. Generally, we use an before a word beginning with a consonant sound; a banana, a car, a dog. We use an before a word beginning with a vowel sound; an apple, an egg, an ice cream, an orange, an umbrella. There some exceptions as you can see on the following site. https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/591/01/ Just as a reminder the English vowels are; a, e, i, o and u.
