What is the bystander effect and how does it relate to everyday life?
The Bystander effect entails that when there is a large group of people, individuals assume that the others in the crowd will take responsibility for whatever is occurring. Because of this, everyone in the group essentially does nothing because they believe everyone else will do something. This becomes critical in medical emergencies, where if you saw someone calling out for help in public, you may not take action assuming someone else will do it.
How does genetic engineering play a role in what future possibilities lie ahead in science?
Genetic engineering, such as the use of CRISPR, plays a massive role in the future of science. You are able to edit the genome of human beings and start to create major medical advances. Some advances have been to mass-produce insulin, create vaccines, and even produce artificial hormones!

How do you differentiate between kinetic and potential energies?
Kinetic energy involves energy "in motion" whereas potential energy deals with the potential an object has to move. So in the case of a car on a hill, if it is stationary it has a lot of potential energy with no kinetic energy. But as the car begins to roll down the hill, the kinetic energy quickly increases as the potential energy decreases.
