About Rachel

About Rachel
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved words. Ever since I could hold a pen, I scribbled down stories, and I wanted to be a published author when I grew up. I earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in writing, and I am currently working towards a master’s degree in English. I have tutored writing at a local community college since 2016. Currently, I live in Texas with my husband and our cat. During my free time, I enjoy browsing bookstores, crocheting blankets, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Teaching Experience

I have tutored writing at the collegiate level for over 6 years. In that time, I have worked in Writing Centers at both a university and a community college, and I have also worked as an online tutor for Smarthinking. I have an advanced understanding of grammar and punctuation, an eye for awkward or weak sentences, a knack for effective essay organization, and an in-depth knowledge of both MLA 8 and APA 6.
