What is one thing I can master to help me with Pre-Calculus.
If there is one thing that each pre-calculus student needs, it is number skills and logic skills. A lot of pre-calculus courses do not allow the use of calculators for part of the course. This means that students need to be able to reason on their own and not rely on technology to do the math for them.
What is one thing in calculus that can help me universally throughout the class.
One of the most important tools a student can have is the basics of the course. That may seem simple in nature, but fundamentally if you are strong, it will help you with each part of the class. The fundamentals each student needs to know are the basic derivative rules, such as trig functions, exponentials, logarithmic, as well as the basic integration rules. If you can master these, you will have over half of what you need to tackle each problem.
When it says "solve the following quadratic function, what does that mean?"
The word "solve" typically tells us we are trying to get something by itself. When talking about quadratic functions, to solve means to find the x-intercepts. X-intercepts, solutions, zeros, and roots are all terms used to tell us to solve. We can solve these functions by graphing, by factoring, or by using the quadratic formula.
