How do we read the coordinates of a point on a graph - (x,y) or (y,x)?
We read the coordinates in the (x,y) form. The easiest way to remember this is to imagine if the point was on fire and you were a firefighter that needed to put out the fire. You would first need to move the ladder along the x axis to get under the point, and then climb up the ladder to reach the point of the fire. So we move the ladder (along x axis), then climb up (along y axis), reading in the (x,y) form.
