About Sierra

About Sierra
I have been a teaching assistant at my university for the past 2 years, and I enjoy teaching and meeting new people. I also have experience tutoring one-on-one. I am very patient and encouraging. My teaching philosophy is to incorporate ideas or concepts the student finds interesting. I find that this really helps with the engagement and retention of the subject. I have also had 4 years of hands-on research experience at my university and through internships at NASA. I can't wait to meet you!

Characterizing Galactic Binaries In the Cloud with LISA - A Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method was utilized to account for the amount of simultaneous sources and implemented on a cloud computing facility. Using cloud computing sets up a platform that can be manipulated to fit the needs of many computing situations and is ideal for large data. This platform was created from the ground up and has been used to reproduce the results of previous codes to demonstrate the ability and effectiveness of cloud computing.
