About Rachel
I am a PhD researcher passionate about the natural world and its conservation. I am also dedicated to scientific outreach, educating others about scientific research and ways in which people can get involved with conserving the natural world. I have a background in ecology, evolution and animal behaviour, but I have a solid working knowledge of most areas of 'Biology', and I completed A levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology.

Whilst working in the Cayman Islands, as a researcher, I ran an invasive lionfish workshop for the local summer school, consisting of a talk on lionfish and a practical workshop. I supervise final year undergraduate students during the summer, and occasionally run a reef ecology lecture series at my own PhD field sites, or another of the research sites run by 'Operation Wallacea'. During the summer, I conduct field research for my PhD whilst also supervising undergraduate students in the field and running a reef ecology course, consisting of lectures and in water SCUBA diving practicals
