Answer:

These expressions show the speaker’s attitude towards the quantity he/she is referring to. A few (for countable nouns) and a little (for uncountable nouns) describe the quantity in a positive way. Examples: I’ve got a few friends. (= maybe not many, but enough) I’ve got a little money, (= I’ve got enough to live on) Few and little describe the quantity in a negative way: Examples: Few people visited him in the hospital. (= he had almost no visitors) He had little money. (= almost no money)

Question:

What is the role of a prosecutor in the criminal justice system?

Answer:

Prosecutors play a pivotal role in the U.S. criminal justice system. They are administrators of justice and advocates for the people. The role of a prosecutor is to represent the People against a person charged with violating crimes of the United States, or those of a given state. Although in many ways a prosecutor is just like any other lawyer, their role differs significantly because their unique ethical duties extend beyond the role of an advocate and include an obligation to “seek justice.” This means both prosecuting criminals and protecting those who are innocently accused.
