How do you create compelling and impactful graphics?
The right font, the right colors, the right images — those are important in creating compelling graphics. But what is perhaps more important is your design strategy: a strategy that helps you determine what to make and do, why do it and how to innovate contextually, both immediately and over the long-term. You need to understand your goals, your audience, your broader communications strategy and channels, and then use that information to inform your design. As your tutor it is my goal to help you better understand these concepts and to ultimately empower you to create compelling and impactful graphics.
How do you start a career in entertainment?
Starting a career in film or theater is not easy, but it can be done with the right attitude and work ethic. Many people will tell you that luck is an important factor, and they're not wrong. It's important, but here's the thing about luck: it evaporates very quickly, and if you don't fill the space with work, talent, and risk, you won't have a career. My goal as a tutor will help you identify concrete ways to put in the work, develop your talent, and make calculated risks.
How do you develop an effective communications strategy?
Crafting an effective communications strategy for an organization or individual is an art, not a science. It can seem daunting, but there are six things you can do to make sure your strategy is impactful, no matter the project: (1) Clearly and explicitly identify your communications goals; (2) Know your target audience inside and out; (3) Craft messages based on your goals and audience; (4) Identify powerful messengers based on your goals and audience; (5) Identify the best platforms for these messengers based on your available resources; (6) Constantly evaluate your strategy and adjust based it on your findings (aka stay smart and nimble!). My goal as your tutor will be to help you better understand what this means and teach you how to do them effectively.
