I went from being a Chemical Systems Engineer at a nuclear power plant to data analyst for a Fortune 500 company, and now lead, teach, and inspire future engineers. During the past year, I was named “Teacher of the Year” for the Limestone County Career Technical Center, named “STEM Teacher of the Year” by the Limestone County School District”, and nominated by our district for two awards: the Air Force Association National Teacher of the Year and the Chiquita Marbury Innovation in Technology Award. I began teaching at a private school for students who struggled with the learning environment at a public school and were transferred there. It was a small school, and I taught all science and math subjects to all grades in 9-12. Later, I began teaching pre-engineering students at a career technical center. I coached FIRST robotics, underwater robotics, and electric car construction and racing.
