I have lots of emails to send out to a large group of people, but I want them to be more personalized. How can I do this?
You can use the mail merge feature in your Microsoft Office suite to personalize mass mailings. The final result can either be printed and mailed or sent through email. Basically, you will create a database in Excel that has everyone's personal info you would like to be different from letter to letter. Then, you will use Word to create your generic template with placeholders for the inserted data using the mail merge feature in word. If you would like, I can walk you through the process step-by-step.
I have a large amount of data and would like to create a data dashboard that would make it easy for myself and others to quickly see trends and make changes. How can I do this in Excel?
Your best bet for an interactive data dashboard is to use pivot charts and slicers. Pivot charts will give you a way to easily display complex sets of data on the fly, while slicers can give the user control to make changes to what is being displayed with the click of a button. The key to a good data dashboard is attractive styling, so be sure to use appropriate colors, sizing, and if needed, you may also include multiple pivot tables and charts simulataneously on the same dashboard.
I'm worried about having enough time to answer every question. When I'm taking the test, how can I make sure I get through in time?
The ACT is a very fast-paced exam. To be sure you get all questions answered, get a feeling for how long 30 seconds is before you go to take the test. When you are taking practice tests at home, keep a timer next to you or on a computer that will let you see when 30 seconds have passed. Doing this will cause you to be able to judge from experience when a 30 second time period has passed on the test, and can cue you to move on to another question if after that amount of time you still aren't sure what the question is asking or how to proceed.
