Which strait is currently being "fought over" between the UK and Spain, and why?
The UK and Spain both make a claim to the Straight of Gibraltar, on the Iberian Peninsula. The strait is valuable to the UK because of its location and the military, trade, and tourism benefits it holds. Brexit has made the situation even more controversial.

If Benedict Anderson is right, and all communities are imagined, how does that interplay with such tangible divisions as the borders of a country?
Often, a country's borders were decided with little regard for the "imagined" communities that already existed in the region. A prime example would be the Treaty of Berlin, which divided Africa up among the colonizing powers with no regard for the ethnic groups that already existed in the continent. As a result, political divisions clashed with ethnic divisions. The effect we see in the modern day is the political instrumentalization of ethnic minorities such as what occurred in Rwanda.
