Question:

Why would I need to become a good writer?

Answer:

Lin Manuel Miranda -- need I say more? Oh I do? Okay -- he wrote the smash hit "Hamilton", but he also has the Hamilton Mixtapes. One of my favorites is called I Wrote My Way Out - where he collaborates with Nas. The opening lines have this "no friends, no family to catch my fall. Running on empty, th was nothing left in me but doubt I picked up a pen and I wrote my way out" Writing is our way out of so many situations and sometimes into situations. It depends on your audience and purpose. Writing well and becoming a master of the words and learning how to use them to your advantage can open so many doors for you whether you're writing a scholarship application, job proposal, love letter, essay, diary entry or the next smash Broadway musical. Words have power, and you hold that within your hands.

Question:

In the Wizardnard series by Kobe Bryant, he retells the same events through the lens of 5 different players from the team - 5 different points of view? Why is this important for the reader?

Answer:

We can all witness the same events in history or in our life, for example, our response to the worldwide pandemic, yet we all have a different perspective we bring to the table - or in this example - court. Each player, whether it's Rain or Twig, have unique back stories that skews their vision of the events being played out before them. Kobe does this to prove a point, that no matter your back story, we can come together as a team, a family, a nation, or world, to beat our common adversary once we learn to work together.

Answer:

Twitter - I use this as an example because first of all- Twitter forces the author to be clear and concise with a word limit. Twitter becomes synonymous with your identify because how you present yourself in the written word is how people view you. Period. So the proper usage of grammar, mechanics, and punctuation can make or break your reputation.
