Tutor profile: Andrew W.
Tutor with AmeriCorps ReadingCorps
I am a graduate from the University of Iowa and a recipient of the Magid Center for Undergraduate Writing Certificate. I enjoy the poetry of Joy Harjo, Walt Whitman, and Gregory Pardlo. I believe that without taking risks and showing students the opportunities that come from writing, we cannot hope to see positive change in the world.
I worked as a peer tutor for a year during my undergraduate for engineering students at the University of Iowa's Hanson Center for Technical Communication, and more recently spent the 2019-2020 school year as an AmeriCorps ReadingCorps reading tutor specializing on 1-to-1 interventions for students in kindergarten through 3rd grades.
