Answer:

When it comes to both economic and social impacts, the North won the economic side and the South won the social side. The North destroyed the South’s "Cotton King's" empire during various battles, which not only affected plantations, but the currencies as well. The North had advantage of having England and France provide them economically due to their stance of abolishing slavery. Although the North destroyed the South's finance, their victory did not have a lasting impact. The South won the overall war, especially the social impact of both Northerners and former African slaves. The South’s original goal was to uphold supremacy against African slaves and be politically independent from the North. They accomplished this by electing a President who enforced state’s rights of suppressing former slave’s known as Jim Crow. The impact of Jim Crow and Reconstruction gave the South's victory of the war based on accomplishing their original goal of controlling the US political system and continuing slavery.
