Answer:

Natural Science is the study of how things work. Whether that's on a basic scale or a more advanced scale, it covers pretty much everything. Natural Science is broken up into 5 different sections. Chemistry- The study of how matter is composed. Chemistry teaches us what needs to come together in order to create the bonds of everything we know. Earth Science- The study of the Earth and atmosphere. This is the study of the ground we walk on, the water we use, and the air we breathe. Astronomy- The study of everything out there. Astronomy studies the stars, moons, planets, and essentially everything in the known universe. It helps us understand what's out there beyond what we know. Biology- The study of life. Biology covers everything that's living. This includes anything from people to plants. If it's living biology has got it covered. Physics- The study of how things move and interact with each other. Physics is how we can see the movement of the world around us and understand why things move the way they do. These 5 sections come together to create Natural Science. The study of everything.

Question:

Why is Geology important?

Answer:

While I was working on my degree I got asked questions like this one all the time. Why is Geology important? Why did you switch majors to look at rocks? Why bother? The reason Geology is important would take ages to explain in detail. The short answer though, is history. Geology is the history of the Earth. It's the history of this big rock that we live on. It's the history of everything from a grain of sand to tallest mountains. It's the history of how we came to be the way we are now. Geologists have many different paths they can take. A mineralogist is a geologist who specializes in minerals and gems. These are people who can help with mining to find minerals in the ground such as copper, gold, or silver. These are minerals used in different items that help make modern life easier. A Seismologist studies how the Earth moves. They can help track and monitor events such as earthquakes. Earthquakes are sometimes hard to predict, but they can cause events that can be predicted. This allows for lives to be saved. Some Geologists just follow the path of basic geology. A lot of these people have basic understanding in multiple Geologic paths. This means that they could work in many fields that involve multiple aspects of Geology. One major field that requires a lot of knowledge on a lot of different parts of Geology is the oil industry. Geologist are a major part in finding the oil needed to run many mechanical items. Why is Geology important? Every rock you see has a history. It has a story about how it got where it is now. Every building, every road, every car is there because of Geology. Without the study of the Earth and it's hidden secrets just below the service, we would be living in a very different world.

Question:

What has immigration looked like to the United States over the years?

Answer:

This is a question I personally hear argued a lot, especially now with so many people arguing about illegal immigration. In truth even the original settlers of what we consider the United States weren't even the first immigrants. Thousands of years before the original Native Americans came from different tribes and locations and settles across what is now our country. Even they would have been considered immigrants by today's definition of the word. An immigrant is a person who comes to a new land and settles there permanently. If everyone who came to the United States including the Natives were at one point immigrants, that means every single person living in the United States is somehow related to an immigrant. It doesn't matter if it's legal or not, they still immigrated once they left where they lived before and decided to make this place their home. Illegal immigration wasn't even considered a thing until the 1920's when laws were passed to limit the immigrants coming. It wasn't even a law passed to maintain population levels or stop bad people from coming into the country. It was originally to keep people who were being hunted in Europe out. It was a way to protect the United States from backlash by taking in people who had been deemed law breakers just because of their religion or life style. Before that law was signed anyone could come and go for any reason which is why America was the dream. The United States is a country created because of immigration. If immigration didn't exist in this country there wouldn't be anyone living here except the animals. Immigration in the United States still happens today whether it's illegal or not. People come from all over the world to start a life in this country. This continues the tradition of immigration into the United States.
