Question:

Briefly explain the vaccine controversy.

Rachel T.
Answer:

Getting vaccinated has recently become very controversial. Many people believe that vaccines are dangerous and cause many adverse effects. Furthermore, people believe that the government should not have the right to force them to vaccinate their children. However, vaccines are unique because not every child can safely be vaccinated and a certain amount of people need to be vaccinated in order to create herd immunity, meaning that vaccinated people protect non-vaccinated people. If people do not get vaccinated, vaccine preventable diseases will become more common and cause more deaths. Therefore, other people believe that getting vaccinated should be mandatory.
