What is a typical dose of tylenol for an adult?
typically the average adult will take 1-2 of the 500 mg tablets for each dose. This would be considered a safe dose, however, users should be aware that more than 3000 mg of tylenol should not be taken in a 24 hour period.
While caring for an elderly patient who was hospitalized for a fall what would be some nursing recommendations for lifestyle changes that the patient can make?
As a nurse I would recommend that the patient pick up and remove any throw rugs from their floor, tape any loose electrical cords to the baseboards to prevent tripping over them, if the patient owns a small animal that they want to keep suggest placing a bell on their collar so the patient can hear them coming, carrying a cell phone in a pocket or pouch around their neck at all times, and keeping the house clear of extra furniture or floor decorations to make a clear path to walk.
How does someone know the difference between a hand being in the supination position versus the pronation position?
When trying to remember the difference between the supination and the pronation positions an easy memory trick would be to remember that you can serve someone a bowl of soup in the supination position. That means that the hand would be out with the palm facing up.
