Question:

Pourquoi étudier le français?

Jade B.
Answer:

Translation: Why study French? Firstly, you could read that sentence ;). Also, French is the language of love. It's the language of the city of lights. Who doesn't want to visit Paris? the south of France? Learning a little French would help you on this trip and on trips to the Carribean or Africa. French is also an official language of the UN, of the EU, and of 33 countries. 200 million people speak French! French is also easier than many other languages - English has borrowed about half of its words from another language. So, the better question: Why not study French?

Question:

Why study literature?

Jade B.
Answer:

We interact with literature every day. Whether reading a book, an online article or even a meme, literature is everywhere. Studying literature helps us understand these texts and be critical of them. Maybe it could even make those memes funnier.

English as a Second Language

Question:

Why should I use conversation to learn English?

Jade B.
Answer:

Conversation is the way we use language! Even writing a book is a form of conversation - a conversation between the author and the reader. Conversation is also the most natural way to be immersed into a language and naturally teaches grammatical concepts (or at least provides a gateway to these concepts).
