Question:

How can I tell if an article is an appropriate source for my research assignment?

Answer:

Each assignment has different needs, but most research papers require scholarly sources. The best place to search is your library's scholarly databases. When in doubt, perform a CRAAP test! Currency - When was the article written? Is it out of date? Relevance - Is it applicable to your paper? Authority - Who wrote the article? Are they experts in the field? Accuracy - How reliable is the article? Purpose - Why was this article written? Are there any biases to keep in mind?

Subject: English

Question:

What is wrong with the following sentence?: Neither my brother nor my sister know how to read.

Answer:

There is a subject verb agreement problem here! The subject is plural (brother and sister) but the verb is singular (know). To fix the sentence, change know to knows.
