Which program do I use to make a brochure or magazine?
Adobe InDesign is by far the best program to create a brochure or magazine. The program was designed for this specific purpose! InDesign makes it easy to lay out a publication with photos and text. After you design your piece, you can export it to a PDF, and from there you can upload it to different websites or print it out, depending on what your purpose is.
What programs are the best for graphic design?
The Adobe Creative Suite, or Adobe Creative Cloud, is the best for graphic design. There are specific programs within the Suite that pertain to different things, such as web design, brochures, illustration, photography, and more. The main three that are most used are Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
What is an easy way to create a vector image of a line drawing?
There are a couple of different ways to do this in Adobe Illustrator. The easiest way for me has always been the Image Trace function. The first step would be to Place your line drawing into your Illustrator document. Then, you will click the Image Trace button at the top of your screen. If the result is to your satisfaction, great! You're done! Just click Expand at the top of the screen. If the whole drawing isn't showing up, you can open your Image Trace panel and play with the settings on each slider. To remove a white background, click Ignore White. I always do this so I can put my image on a colored background if I need to do so. The Threshold slider will control how much Image Trace "sees" of your image. Slide it back and forth until you're satisfied with the result. The Paths and Corners sliders can also be changed. Keep in mind, the more Paths you have, the more accurate your Trace will be, but the larger your file will be. Always click Expand when you are happy with your Image Trace!
