How do you develop an effective argument when writing a persuasive essay?
Here are the steps I follow to develop an effective argument for a persuasive essay: 1. Gather and list evidence that supports my argument, whether it be from readings, current events or personal experience 2. Based on the evidence gathered, develop a thesis statement that showcases my main argument 3. Gather and list evidence that could possibly go against my argument, then create a list of matching responses for these pieces of evidence 4. Plan the essay's parts: Introduction that revolves around the thesis, two sections with main points of my argument supported by positive evidence in the essay's body, one section that responds to/discredits the strongest negative evidence against my argument, a conclusion that reaffirms my argument and ties the three body sections back to the thesis stated in the introduction. 5. Write

Explain the concept of cultural relativism as it pertains to anthropology.
Cultural relativism is both a worldview and a way of approaching the study of human societies. It requires that one view the characteristics and behaviors of people in a certain society within the context of their specific culture, in order to better understand the reasons behind their actions. It also requires that one refrain from "judging" or ranking certain cultures as superior to others. Anthropologists consistently practice cultural relativism in their research and writing.
