What are three of the most important issues that large businesses are facing when managing their Information Technology?
The first issue that large businesses are facing are the rising costs of replacing legacy IT solutions with newer options. The costs are rising because the initial cost of the equipment is generally high, then to migrate data and potentially cause business impact during transition are not attractive to most companies. This places IT managers in the place of having to continue to maintain legacy "old" IT solutions. The second issue is around cyber-security and protecting their systems and customer data for hackers. This is not necessarily a new issue, but as hackers continue to find new ways to engineer their ways into peoples systems, it increases the risk of a cyber-attack. The third issue is retaining quality staff. Todays workforce, especially in IT, it one where resources move from job to job and don't expect to spend 10-15 years with a company like the workforce was many years ago. Companies need to come up with creative ways to entice employees to stay.
