Question:

If $$4$$$$x$$-$$y$$ = $$10$$, what is the value of $$\frac{81^{x}}{3^{y}}$$?

First, remember that to simplify numbers with exponents, the numbers must have the same base. So we need to convert $$81$$ into $$3$$ somehow. $$81$$ = $$3^4$$, so $$\frac{81^{x}}{3^{y}}$$ can be rewritten as $$\frac{3^{4x}}{3^{y}}$$ When you divide numbers that have the same base and exponents, keep the same base and subtract the denominator exponent from the numerator exponent. = $$3^{4x-y}$$ We know that $$4$$$$x$$-$$y$$ = $$10$$, so plug $$10$$ in as the exponent! = $$3^{10}$$

Question:

How do I become a better writer?

To be a good writer, one must first be a good reader. To me, a good reader is like Virginia Woolf's "common reader:" someone who reads closely and carefully with empathy, mentally engages with the work at hand, and approaches the piece with an open mind. Consider how you feel when you read something: does it keep your interest? Why or why not? What techniques is the writer using? Are they successful? Think about the motives of the writer and what might have driven them to write this piece. Take notes on all of this and look back at them when you write. What draws you into a piece? How do writers convey their points? Then, tryin mirroring the elements you like and avoid those you don't like in your own writing!
