How can I improve my Spanish accent?
What I recommend to my students is to watch more tv shows, movies or the news in Spanish, listen to Spanish music, or even make a friend that is a native Spanish speaker and start talking with them more. It's difficult if the people we practice Spanish with aren't native speakers, because even if our Spanish vocabulary expands, the different Spanish accents aren't being 100% practiced. Take some time each week to practice listening to Spanish and mimicking what they say. Repeat their expressions and their tone of voice and eventually it will come more naturally.
What is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator?
It is a self-report questionnaire that asks questions about your personality. After taking the questionnaire, it gives you your result, one of the sixteen personality types, and explains what personality traits fall under that specific type. There are four categories and two options within each category. There's introversion or extroversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and judgement or perception.
How are some ways that you teach English as a second language?
When I teach ESL, or English as a second language, I like to keep the classes fun and interesting. I use a hands-on approach to teaching, instead of just opening up a book and trying to learn English simply by reading and writing. I get my younger students to participate and learn English through songs and games, and for my adult learners I make the classes interactive but age-appropriate. For someone to learn a new language, I think it is extremely important for them to feel comfortable speaking it, so I chose to structure my classes around conversation. I still include and teach reading and writing, but I want my students to be able to listen and respond.
