I'm a recently retired university professor. I taught courses in programming, database design and development, and game design for 16 years. Before teaching, I worked in industry as a software and database developer for 23 years.
Teaching Experience
I taught at Rochester Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2017. I have taught courses in programming (C, C++, C#, Java), databases (SQL, database administration, programmatic access), and game design (game design, wargame design). I have experience doing both face to face and online courses. Prior to teaching at RIT, I was an adjunct at Monroe Community College and SUNY at Geneseo. I taught programming in both places.

While at RTE, I served as a Sybase DBA on a print-on-demand system, as well as being a developer. Work was done using Sybase System 10 on Sun Microsystems machines, using the Sun OS and Solaris operating systems. I was a DBA and software developer on several projects at Wegmans, including a bad check tracking system, a mailing list analysis system, and the preliminary version of a market basket data analysis system. The databases used were Sybase System 10 and Informix SE. Work was performed on IBM RS/6000 machines using the AIX operating system. The language used on these projects was C. I was also a project member on a credit card authorization project.
