I am currently an entrepreneur and lead engineer for a company I co-founded called TOTAGO (more info at https://www.totago.co). Previously I worked as an engineer for Socrata, Inc, a Seattle-based technology company. I love science, and in college, I researched both computational biology and computational linguistics. I am fluent in Spanish and have lived in South America for six months and have taken advanced college-level Spanish in the U.S. and abroad.

I co-founded TOTAGO and I am the lead engineer and project manager for our remote team. We are focused on developing a web and mobile app to enable seamless planning of outdoor adventures with public transit and other car-free means of transportation. We have on-going partnerships with the U.S. Forest Service and The Wilderness Society working to alleviate transportation issues facing public lands and increase access for for the underrepresented.

Developed statistical machine translation software for use in public health departments across the Northwest for the production of multilingual health materials. Work involved primary research in machine translation combined with user-centered design to deploy the technology in the public health work environment.
