When writing an essay in MLA format, what are the three most important things to know?
When writing an essay in MLA format a few rules must be followed. The first thing to note is the format. MLA must be typed in 12 pt. Times New Roman, with 1 inch margins, and should be double spaced. The essay should consist of five paragraphs, an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. It is also important to make sure there is a proper MLA heading which should have the authors name, professors name, the class subject and number, as well as the date, in that specific order. Secondly it is important that if the author is doing any research throughout the essay, they must have a works cited page. If they fail to cite their sources it is quite possible they will be accused of plagiarism which has extreme consequences. There are certain guidelines when it comes to citing sources so it is important that those specific guidelines are followed. Lastly and possibly most importantly, the content of the essay. The essay should have a strong attention getter that hooks the reader. This could make or break the essay, a good attention getter will immediately interest the reader. The introduction should include the thesis statement as well. Following the introduction paragraph are the body paragraphs. This should be the meat of the essay, meaning this should be the bulk of information. These paragraphs are the backbone to the essay providing most of the information. Following the body paragraphs is the conclusion which restates the thesis and wraps up the whole essay. If the author is able to follow these three tips, they should be able to write a excellent MLA essay.

Writing things down is the best way for the human brain to remember specific information. Which is why this may be an excellent way to study for an upcoming history exam that consists of many names and dates. Another way would be to make flashcards. Quizzing oneself if always a good way to remember information. The best thing about flashcards is that they are portable. A student can take them wherever they go so when they have free time they are able to glance through them to quiz themselves as a refresher. For students that are visual learners, seeing information can be a great way to remember everything rather than hearing it. Using a white board can be a great tool for these types of students. If they are in front of a white board they can draw out any concept along with writing the necessary names and dates. White boards are easily erasable allowing students to redraw different concepts as many times as needed. These are just a few study techniques but there are many more out there! Study techniques vary amongst each subject but there is always a fun way to remember information before a test, quiz, or exam!
Through the years of approximately 450-750, early medieval art flourished. Describe a few classic characteristics artists used during this time and give two examples of art works that were made in this time period.
Throughout the medieval period, most works of art were extremely detailed and portable. The detail in art works during this time period were extremely important because they represented current society politics. They were also made small for the purpose of being easily transported. Animal interlace was an extremely popular form of decoration on items such as belts or other accessories. For example, "Sutton Hoo Purse Lid," which was made in the early 7th century, displays animal interlace and has a hidden message. This message tells viewers that the animals portrayed in this work are meant to represent what goes on outside of society, and the humans are meant to represent what is happening within society. These images are purposely made difficult to interpret, the artist wants to give the viewers a challenge. Another example of artwork during this time is the "Belt Buckle Decorated with Niello and Animal Interlace." This art work also comes from early 7th century, displaying similar characteristics as the "Sutton Hoo Purse Lid." The belt buckle consisted of very rare, special, material for its owner. This showed wealth and artistic ability of the current time period.
