Answer:

A cover letter should explain why you would be the best candidate for the position by highlighting your related experience, skill set, knowledge, and overall interest. Make sure to include the position title you are applying for and the business/employer within the opening statement of your cover letter. There are also many helpful websites that can generate a great cover letter for you. Question:

I need help understanding the poem titled, “The Mower Against Gardens” by Andrew Marvell

Answer:

Andrew Marvell’s poem,” The Mower Against Gardens” explores man and his garden in relation to the Garden of Eden. Man is seen reliving his life in Eden by tampering with nature and subjecting himself to the fallen world. Andrew Marvell uses both voice and allusion to express this notion. Within these two lines, the speaker demonstrates how the mower’s garden is part of nature itself and foreshadows man’s temptation to tamper with it. “And from the fields the flowers and plants allure, / Where nature was most plain and pure” (1706, 3-4). The natural beauty of flowers “allure” man like The Tree of Knowledge. Nature is God’s creation, not man’s. When man begins to produce his own garden, he takes on the role of God himself by interbreeding plants. As the gardener interbreeds the plants to create exotic new breeds, he is interfering with nature’s existence for his own guilty pleasures.
