Define Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs in simple terms.
Maslow developed a hierarchy of needs that all humans share. Each level must be met before the next level of needs can be satisfied. The lowest level is referred to as "Physiological need" sand they include what we need to exist; hunger, sleep, thirst. Second level is called "Safety Needs;" and those are the needs for stability and safety. Third level of need is "Love and Belongingness:" which includes the need for relationships both social and romantic. The fourth level of need is termed "Esteem Needs;" and it entails needs for admiration and respect. The final level is "Self Actualization" and self actualization is simply being happy and proud of ones self for achieving one's potential, whatever that means for that individual.
What are some differences between a gram positive and a gram negative cell?
Gram positive cells stain violet when stained with Crystal Violet and appear purple under a microscope due to teichoic acid presence in the cell wall. Most gram positive cells are not pathogenic and the cell wall is thicker. Gram negative cells do not hold the crystal violet stain when washed with alcohol and appear a lighter pink under a microscope. Most of the pathogenic bacterias belong to the gram negative cell family and the cell wall is much thinner than that of gram negative bacteria.
