1. Functionalism: Social stability is necessary for a society to function and thrive. Slow change helps society adapt but too many changes too quickly can threaten the society's base. 2. Conflict Theory: Social problems exist based upon the inequalities in society that are already in place. For example, race, gender, etc. 3. Symbolic Interactionist: Social problems happen when people interact with each other. Behaviors are learned and shared with others, and negative interactions can influence other's reactions to a situation.
