I always enjoyed school growing up, though I recognize that isn't the case for others. I believe the way we approach learning and the presence of positive role models is as important as mastering the academic skills. As a tutor, I bring passion to learning, a curiosity about the subjects we're studying and a listening ear for the students. Learning is about asking questions, trying new approaches, and seeing mistakes as opportunities to grow.
I have worked with youth in and out of schools for the last ten years. For six of those, I worked with students on their academics. I co-taught a two and three year old classroom, working on social emotional regulation and language development. For three years I worked in a middle school, tutoring and mentoring 6th-8th graders in their math, reading, and writing. I then shifted to an elementary school, tutoring 2nd-5th graders in math, reading, and writing. I am comfortable working with students K-12, and love teaching math, reading, writing,
