What category of prevention do vaccines fall under? What about Mammograms? Chemotherapy?
The three main types of prevention are primary prevention (prevent the disease from spreading), secondary prevention (steps taken to diagnose diseases as early as possible), and tertiary prevention (treating a disease to minimize symptoms after its onset). This means that vaccines would fall under primary prevention because they lower the chance of infection. Screening methods like mammograms and prostate exams fall under secondary prevention because their goal is to catch a disease early, before the onset of symptoms. Chemotherapy is an example of tertiary prevention because it works to fight a disease which has already infected the patient.
In the field of developmental psychology, what is the difference between authoritarian and authoritative parenting? Is one better for the child's development than the other?
Authoritarian and authoritative parenting are two of the more "hands-on" parenting styles (as opposed to permissive or neglectful) but there are several key differences. Authoritarian parenting values strict obedience to the parents, while authoritative parents allow their children more room to explore their own interests. As for which style is better, the answer is, unfortunately, it depends. In western culture (which largely values individualism), the authoritative style tends to work better while in eastern culture (which largely values collectivism), authoritative works better.
What is the CSS box model and how can I use it to format my page?
The CSS box model is the basis for how CSS formats your HTML content. At the center of the box is your content. The content is surrounded by padding, which you can add or subtract from to push the border further from the content or bring it closer in. Outside of the border is the margin, which is the value for the space between one piece of content and another.
