What is the perimeter of a rectangle when the length= 30 cm and the width=20 cm?
The perimeter is when you add all four sides together. Two of the sides are the length (30). So 30+30= 60 cm, but we aren't done yet. Two of the sides are the width (20). So 20+20=40 cm. Now we have to add the two answers we got together so 60+40= 100 cm. The perimeter is 100 cm. (You also could ass 30+30+20+20= 100 cm).
Evaluate 9-b, when b=8.
If the equation is 9-b, and b=8, you would substitute 8 in for b. So then, the problem would be 9-8 and 9-8= 1. So your answer would be 1.

Adam has $800 in his bank account. He received a check from his job for $1,200 and he puts that into his bank account. How much money does he have in his bank account after he puts the check in his bank account?
In this problem, Adam is adding more money to his bank account. So, therefore, we have to use addition to solve the problem. He already has $800 and he adds $1,200. So 800+1,200= 2,000. Adam now has $2,000 in his bank account.
