I realized later in college that I was more passionate about medical research than clinical medicine and decided I wanted to pursue a PhD instead of medical school. I took a year off to work as a research technologist and applied to graduate school. I will begin my PhD in biomedical sciences at UC- San Diego in the fall of 2016.

I have worked as a private tutor in multiple subjects including biology, chemistry, nutrition, neuroscience, psychology and philosophy. Additionally I serve as a mentor to undergraduate students. I have also taught swimming and rock climbing to various ages.
